Project Eleven by Month

The project Eleven by Month (11 Por Mês) was created by Zé Zoran, the owner of the webpage Melhor Ângulo. His idea is to try to bring back the habit of developing your photographs. You remember when you were a kid and your family and friends would getter around photo books to see the photos that were taken on your last birthday party? You remember how amazing it was to have everyone together looking at those photos? What Zoran says is true, nowadays it’s not the same experience with the photos being on the computer. So his idea is, let’s develop 11 photos every single month of the year, giving you a total of 132 developed photos!

I know I’m a bit late in telling you about this project, since the second month of the year is almost over, but I hope you’ll want to join us. So here is the deal, you select eleven photos you took last month and eleven that you took this month and develop them! If you put them on your Flickr account, use the tags #11pormes and #11bymonth so that we can know how big this project is getting! Send me the links to your pictures and I’ll put them here on the blog!

I really hope you’ll join us in this exciting project! And here goes my eleven photos from January:

Trees of Ice

Navigating on Flickr yesterday I came across the gallery of the landscape photographer Timothy Corbin. He has recently posted some photos of trees covered in ice from a storm the previous day on the shore of Lake Ontario. The images are surreal, not to mention the incredible colours of mother nature. Make sure to visit his gallery, Corbin has many other great shots!

There’s also a photo of a frozen picnic table that looks amazing:

I’m Not There

“I’m Not There” is a series of photographs by Pol Úbeda Hervàs in which his image is removed from the picture and you can only see his shadow and his sneakers. The photographer says that these pictures represent how he sees himself now; in the changing world, he doesn’t know who he is anymore. Amazing, isn’t it? His way of showing the uncertainty of our times is incredibly accurate; at least, that’s pretty much how I feel too. We are living in a world that is changing too fast for us to keep up with it, and it’s truly hard to find your true self amidst it all.

Developed: 2nd roll film from my Zenit 122

I don’t know if any of you have had a chance to check my Flickr yet, but the thing is: I love photography! Last year I bought two new cameras for me: a CanonT3i, which is a DSLR, and a Zenit 122, which is an analog camera. Last week I developed the second roll film that I used on the Zenit 122. To be honest I’m still learning how to use this camera, but I really liked some of the photos this time:
